Zander joins Sauber as Technical Director

Jorg Zander, is returning to Sauber as Technical Director for the 2017 after joining the team from Audi.

The German who has worked for a number of teams in Formula One including Toyota, BAR, Honda, Brawn and Williams as well as Sauber in its temporary guise as BMW. He later moved to Audi as their Technical Director in the World Endurance Championship after being linked to the now defunct HRT team.

Audi are to leave the World Endurance Championship at the end, although it was rumoured Zander would have left the team anyway at the end of this season, after a period of unprecedented success in the world of Sportscars. It leaves Porsche and Toyota at the top of the sport, with a rumoured return of Peugeot.

He joins a long list of appointments following the purchase of the team by Longbow Finance, including stategist Ruth Bunscombe from Haas, Nicolas Hennel de Beaupreau and Xevii Pujolar.
