Wolff and Lauda sign extensions to Mercedes contract

Toto Wolff and Niki Lauda will remain at Mercedes until at least the end of the 2020 season, and now are contracted to the same date as Mercedes is committed to the sport.

As revealed by Bild in Germany today, effective ‘Team Principal’ Toto Wolff and non-executive chairman Niki Lauda have signed extensions to their contracts to see them through the 2020 season, when a new ‘Concorde Agreement’ is set to be negotiated. Negotiations on these terms are expected to start this year with new owners Liberty Media, with both Wolff and Lauda also owning a share of the team.

Niki Lauda said to Bild, “The past few years were some of the most beautiful I’ve seen in formula 1. Toto and I form a perfect partnership.”
