Williams give online launch for FW40

With sweeping aero changes for 2017, the team have outline the challenges of the new regulations and have highlighted the increased forces put on the driver with much more downforce available than in previous seasons.

The team were challenging Mercedes when the new hybrid-turbo engines came in for the 2014 season, although they have slipped back behind Force India in 2016 after a challenging season.

As with a number of the 2017 cars, the new FW40 has a number of new features including the now familiar shark-fin and s-duct, but doesnt revela the finer details as we saw with Mercedes or Ferrari.

Williams have released images online of their new car, the FW40 which they hope will regain the ground they lost following a disappointing 2016 season.

Following the move of Valtteri Bottas from Williams to Mercedes to replace Nico Rosberg, Felipe Massa has come out of retirement to drive another season with the team alongside rookie Lance Stroll. That isn’t to say the young Canadian isn’t prepared, having extensive testing in an old Williams car at a number of race tracks around the world to acclimatize to the highest level of motorsport.
