Williams have confirmed the driver schedule for the upcoming winter test sessions in Barcelona.
The eight days of testing leading up to the start of the season at the end of March in Melbourne will start next week in Barcelona. With Williams employing a rookie driver for the 2017 season in the form of Lance Stroll, he has already held an extensive testing session around the world in a old Williams car, although with the current tight regulations on testing, he hasn’t been able to drive the new 2017 car. Felipe Massa will be making his return after retiring briefly at the end of last season.
As usual in Formula One, the most experienced Massa will drive the new Williams on the first day of testing (Monday), with him alternating with Stroll over the four days. The second test will see Stroll drive the first two days (Tuesday and Wednesday), before Massa takes the car for the final two days.
The car is to be shown off in the flesh for the first time on Saturday.
