After his difficult qualifying session yesterday, Ferrari have elected to change both the engine and gearbox for Sebastian Vettel, setting him up for the rest of the season.
Ferrari had been running light on engines, heading right back to the Bahrain Grand Prix where Sebastian Vettel had an engine blow up on the outlap, retiring from the race without even making the start.
With a disastrous qualifying session yesterday, with a broken anti-roll bar meant that he wasn’t able to move out of Q1, battling with the Manor drivers at the back of the field.
Taking the opportunity because of starting at the back of the field, the team have changed both the gearbox out of sequence and a sixth engine for Vettel.
He will be joined near the back of the field by Romain Grosjean who also changed his gearbox after crashing in Q2.
