Verstappen fine after Friday practice collapse

Max Verstappen is fine after he collapsed in his pit garage after the first practice session on Friday.

The Dutchman collapsed at the back of the garage after the first session, which was put down to the searing heat in Malaysia. Suffering from dehydration, it is thought he got out of the car too quickly after the session.

He continued the day with no lasting effects, and highlights the extreme heat the drivers have to face in Malaysia with air temperatures in the thirties.

Friday was also his 19th birthday, with him able to joke about the conditions at the end of practice, “Formula One is where I always want to be so it’s nice to spend my birthday here. I can enjoy some birthday cake because it’s so hot at Sepang I’ll lose the kilos anyway.
