Ultra-soft tyres for Singapore

Pirelli have announced today they will be taking the ultra-soft tyre to Singapore, the first of the flyaway races closing the season.

The purple marked ultrasoft tyres were used for the first time at last weekends Monaco Grand Prix, and will be used again next weekend in Canada, as well as in Austria. With Singapore being held under the lights, high track temperatures are not often found in the city despite the high ambient temperature.

Pirelli also noted that the supersoft and soft options would be the other two compounds to be used over the weekend, with either of the compounds to be used during the race. As we have seen so far this season, teams have a free choice on the number of each tyre they take to the track, usually announced the week before the Grand Prix.
