Supersoft tyres heading to Monza for the first time

Pirelli have announced that the supersoft tyre will be used for the first time at the Italian Grand Prix this year.

The supersoft option is a step softer than has been previously used, and will feature alongside the soft and the medium on the high speed circuit, possibly the last year in its current format with a change planned for 2017, that is if a new contract will have been agreed by then.

The teams will be given one extra set of the supersoft tyre for Q3 qualifying, while ten sets will be one again opened up to the teams to decide the number of each tyre compound taken. }

Monza will be the last race of the European season, the first weekend in September, before the flyaway races in Asia, Middle East and Americas at the end of the year.
