Carlos Sainz will retain his drive in the Red Bull next season, saying at Toro Rosso for a third successive season.
The Spaniard has an impressive track record, but was overlooked by Red Bull to make the step up to the sister team in favour of former teammate Max Verstappen. That form has continued this season alongside new teammate Daniil Kvyat who is also tipped to remain within the Red Bull family, despite being linked earlier on in the year to Williams.
Confirming the news, Toro Rosso Team Principal Franz Tost said, “We are very happy that Carlos continues with us, because he has shown a very good performance since he is with Scuderia Toro Rosso and I am convinced that he will be very competitive and strong in 2017 as well. I am very much looking forward to next season as I am sure that Carlos will bring home very good results”.
