Sainz positive after final day of testing

With Toro Rosso making the switch back to current-year Renault engines for 2017, the same as the sister Red Bull team, it has been turbulent for them during winter testing.

Although the team have had their troubles over the last couple of weeks, as have both other Renault powered cars, the team are positive ahead of the new season with enthusiasm that they haven’t explored the limits of their package yet.

After the last day of testing on Friday, Carlos Sainz was pleased with how it had gone in Barcelona, “What a great feeling to end pre-season testing with such a good day!

“I’m very happy with the lap time and with the number of laps completed – managing to cover a full run plan was exactly what we needed before going to Melbourne!

“We can now be a lot more positive about the season that’s about to start. It’s been a tough couple of weeks for the whole team, with problems here and there, but today we finally managed to put a very good day together and we’re definitely ready to race… Let’s do this!”
