Rosberg gets 10 second penalty, drops to third

Nico Rosberg has been given a ten second penalty for a team radio infringement.

It means that Max Verstappen has been promoted to second place, swapping places with Rosberg who will now be classified in third.

The penalty came about as the German was struggling with a gearbox problem, which the team told him over the radio. Upon questioning the team, they relented to give him information on how to work around the problem which isn’t allowed in the current regulations.

As the FIA have confirmed, ‘The driver must drive the car alone and unaided’, the reasoning for the penalty.
