Pirelli announces tyre allocations for Canadian Grand Prix

Pirelli has announced the tyre compounds which are to be used at the Canadian Grand Prix in June.

With new rules this season giving the teams a wider choice of tyre compounds, Pirelli will announce the allocations race-by-race, with a longer lead time for the fly away races, over the European races which we are yet to hear.

The first four fly away race have already been announced, that is up to and including the Russian Grand Prix.

In Canada, the Ultra Soft tyre will be used in qualifying, alongside the soft and the super soft options, with the teams given free options on how to divide those up for qualifying and the race.

Although officially not announced, Pirelli have confirmed the Ultra Soft tyre will be used for the first time at Monaco, one of the tracks it had been designed for.
