Penalty points for Sainz, Gutierrez and Kvyat

Today’s start to the Russian Grand Prix was one which was incident packed and saw four cars retire from the race. The start to the chain effect was Daniil Kvyat who hit the back of Sebastian Vettel.

It wasn’t the only time Vettel would be hit by the Red Bull car, as hit was hit again round turn 2 by the Russian as he slowed with a puncture. It speared him off into the barrier. Kvyat would get a 10 second stop/go penalty through the race, but also three penalty points afterwards.

At the back of the field Gutierrez hit the back of Hulkenberg, and he picked up two penalty points.

Carlos Sainz, who squeezed Jolyon Palmer off the track picked up a ten second penalty through the race, and a further two second penalty to add to his tally.
