Mercedes Executive Director (Technical), Paddy Lowe has been linked to a move to Ferrari joining former team member Jock Clear who moved a couple of years ago.
Mentioned by Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel, he urged that the team, “When someone of his caliber is available, of course you have to think about it.
“But to my knowledge he is not available.”
It’s unclear where the rumour started, but Mercedes are said to be running a FRIC (Front and Rear Interconnected Suspension), which was outlawed, but this version was approved by the FIA at the start of the season before winter testing. Any new technology to help Ferrari would be gratefully received, with a season so far with no wins to their credit.
A substantial reorganisation has already taken place in the technical department, with former technical director James Allison having already left the team.
