ExxonMobil has been confirmed as the new fuel supplier at Red Bull for 2017, coming shortly after the announcement that TAG Heuer would remain as their engine brand.
Making the move from McLaren, with whom ExxonMobil have been associated for over 20 years through a number of different engine suppliers including Peugeot, Mercedes Benz and Honda. It will see the key brands of Mobil and Esso feature on the cars and teamwear for the first time.
Commenting on the new partnership Red Bull Racing Team Principal Christian Horner said: “Mobil 1 and Red Bull Racing are two global brands that share a passion for racing, performance and innovation. Mobil 1 has been an iconic brand in Formula One for more than 30 years and our new partnership provides us with a unique opportunity to tap into ExxonMobil’s world class expertise.”

The association with Total, came hand in hand with the ‘works’ status Red Bull had with Renault when they exited the sport with their own team, and is expected Total will continue with the French team.
McLaren are expected to create a partnership with BP, the first time the oil company will be associated with Formula One since 1994.
