McLaren have continued on the path of signing partners, albeit few partnerships with luxury brands, today announcing the addition of Michael Kors.
Following a dip in sponsorship losing out to other teams, including Hugo Boss to Mercedes and Santander to Ferrari, the signing of Michael Kors is an important one for McLaren, although not high yielding for income.
“Michael Kors and McLaren-Honda are pioneers in their respective spaces, and we firmly believe that McLaren-Honda is the right partner for our entry into the Formula 1 racing world,” says John D. Idol, Chairman and Chief Executive Office of Michael Kors. “This is an exciting moment for us, especially as we continue to grow as a men’s lifestyle brand.”
Branding will appear on the drivers overalls and on the car, while 50 special edition leather jackets will be made and available for purchase at their flagship London store.
