The entry for Manor Racing to compete in this years Formula One World Championship has been withdrawn ending hopes of a last minute revival before the start of the season.
Although the ‘racing team’ Just Racing went into administration, the entry for this season could still have been used using the assets of the team, with interesting coming from Asian investors. These talks have said to have fallen through, with the condition that the team could make the grid in Melbourne. According to the Manor Fan Blog, a core group at the team were prepared to do everything necessary to get the cars prepared for Australia, but the assets will now go to auction.
Autosport have confirmed that owner Stephen Fitzpatrick has written to the FIA to confirm the withdrawal of the entry, marking the end of the Manor team – formerly Virgin Racing and then Marussia.
