Magnussen Renault deal looks set

Further rumblings have suggested that Kevin Magnussen is looking on course to replace Pastor Maldonado at Renault for 2016.

Pastor Maldonado’s place has been at risk for a few weeks, following difficulty in securing money from PDVSA which would secure his place at the team. Although the team confirmed at the end of last season he would be driving for them in 2016, there are obviously clauses in his contract which can see if be dropped if he doesn’t bring in a certain amount of money.

Motorsport.com has claimed that from a few close sources that the deal to hire Magnussen has been done, following a lapse of deadline on the side of the Venezuelans.

There are only a few days left now before the launch in Paris, where we will see unveiled the new management and driver line up.
