Kevin Magnussen has confirmed that he believes he will be fit for the Italian Grand Prix in just a few days time after his large crash during the Belgian race yesterday.
The Renault driver lost control on the exit of Eau Rouge, spinning the car backwards into the tyre barrier which then launched him into the second tyre barrier at Raidillon on lap 6. The ferocity of the accident dislodged the head protection and was thrown from the car, but Magnussen was able to exit from the car before limping away from the scene.
It was later confirmed that the Dane had a small cut to his ankle, in which he was transferred to hospital before announcing he was well on social media while on his way home.
Thanks for all your messages folks! On my way home now with a sore ankle but will be ready for Monza 👍🏻👍🏻 pic.twitter.com/7CH5DttYpw
