There have been a long list on names connected to the second Ferrari seat for 2017, but it has been retained by Kimi Raikkonen for at least another season.
Taking his place alongside Sebastian Vettel, the teams current defacto number one driver, Raikkonen has upped his game this season and is currently on the same number of points as the four-time world champion.
The short comment on the Ferrari website said: “Scuderia Ferrari announces that it has renewed its technical and racing agreement with Kimi Raikkonen. The driver line-up for the 2017 racing season will still consist of the Finnish driver and Sebastian Vettel.”
It stops several moves further down the field. Names linked to the drive included originally Daniel Ricciardo (who is committed to Red Bull), Romain Grosjean, Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez.
