Haas and Renault have taken an extreme tyre choice for the Canadian Grand Prix ignoring the supersoft tyre completely.
The leading teams have also taken different, but similar strategies. Mercedes are taking 3 soft, 2 supersoft and 8 ultrasoft, while Ferrari are taking an extra set of the supersoft compared to ultrasoft. Red Bull on the other hand has elected to take an extra set of the soft.
Interestingly at the back of the midfield, Haas and Renault have decided not to use the supersoft tyre at all, with them less likely to make it through to Q3 in qualifying and concentrate on what they need for practice and the race.
Like Monaco, expect few pitstops in Montreal – one or maybe two at an outside bet.
