A shortlist which has been revealed by Motorsport.com has a number of current drivers included, all apart of course Kevin Magnussen.
The Dane had been reported to have been in contact with Force India, or at least according to the Danish press, but a number of other current Formula One drivers are included. Magnussen has been vocal in his desire to remain at the team for next season, after he was parachuted in before the season started to replace Pastor Maldonado whose funds had dried up from Venezuela.
On that list includes Toro Rosso driver Daniil Kvyat, who has been in and out of form this season which was helped by the demotion from Red Bull in their favour of Max Verstappen. However, as the season has gone on, and especially after the summer break there has been a turnaround in form which many thought would secure him at Toro Rosso for another season. With Pierre Gasly waiting in the wings.
Also on the list is possible Renault refugee Jolyon Palmer, and Renault/Mercedes backed driver Esteban Ocon. The Frenchman has been heavily linked to Renault, but they have already said they could take two ‘lead drivers’, which has made his stock lower. Force India though have historically hired on talent, which is how they ended up with Hulkenberg and Perez in the first place, and that policy looks set to remain.
