Ferrari fastest on final day of wet weather testing

It has been a good couple of days for Pirelli, with much needed wet weather tyre testing at Paul Ricard in the South of France.

Although wet weather testing was tried at Jerez last year, it didn’t really work with just a tractor on the circuit with a little bit of rain, which is why Pirelli pressed for a full wet weather test at Paul Ricard with its in-built sprinkler system.

With McLaren, Ferrari and Red Bull all taking part in the test using unmodified 2015 models of their cars, clocking around a short version of the track nearly 400 times, and hitting nearly 1500 miles across the two days.

Although the times are academic, Ferrari finished fastest with Sebastian Vettel driving, ahead of Daniil Kvyat in the Red Bull, and Stoffel Vandoorne once again driving the McLaren in 3rd.
