Valtteri Bottas is expected to stay at Williams next season, that is according to German and Danish media.
The long-term Williams driver is reported to have agreed a one year deal with the team, not the two years the team desired, and is expected to be announced next weekend in Mexico alongside Canadian Lance Stroll.
Bottas has recently been linked to Renault, although that is said to only be an insurance policy in case something happens at Williams, which will take his contract until the end of next season. It puts him in the mix as a possible replacement for Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari, a play which Sergio Perez has taken at Force India and to an extent Romain Grosjean at Haas who has the will of the team if he got an offer from the Italian marque.
F3 Champion Lance Stroll is widely tipped to be his teammate for 2017, the currently 17 year old has enjoyed a near perfect season. With his birthday at the end of the week, it is expected the deal will be announced next weekend to avoid problems with Martini, the teams biggest sponsor.
